Membership information

To All Redbourn Cricket Club playing members and junior parents

As you will all be aware the start of the cricket season and all organised sport has been suspended.

The announcement came just as our extensive winter net programme for juniors and seniors was coming to an end and fortunately only resulted in the loss of the last two weeks of the programme.

The club has seen record numbers of children attending our Winter training and we have coached more children, in more sessions than ever before, running sessions at multiple locations including Choice Cricket Centre, Redbourn Recreation Centre and Hertfordshire Sports Village.

After we excitedly launched our new website, we saw a flourish of activity (registrations and payments). However immediately after the launch, not surprisingly, activity slowed due to the suspension of virtually all sport, including cricket.

As a club we have invested heavily both in the winter training programme and in preparation for the new season: groundworks, kit, clothing, cricket balls etc.

Although the finances of the club are not cause for immediate concern, we thought it prudent to reach out to our playing members and junior parents and propose a revised registration and payment structure.
- We would like all playing members both junior and senior to be registered on the new website as per the instructions forwarded by Jes Reilly (jespreilly@yahoo.co.uk) and/ or your Year Group Lead Coaches, regardless of any payment. Please do this as quickly as possible so the Club will be ready to commence the start of any new season as soon as we get a green light. No adult or child will be able to play if not registered.
- 50% of subs to be paid now, if possible, to cover all Club fixed costs, as well as the cost of the winter nets and training programmes that the club has already undertaken.
- 50% balance of subs to be paid in advance of the new cricket season if / when it starts.
- Please note we are happy to accept 100% of subs at this time but are keen to stress we would only want this to be paid by those who feel able to do so.
- If you have already paid your subs and would like a refund of 50% please contact Jes Reilly and we can arrange an immediate refund.
- If you pay a full subscription, we are prepared to let you carry over 50% of any full membership paid to next season in the event we don’t play any cricket at all this season, as long as you let us know in October.
- As a caring community Club we are willing to listen to any requests for non-payment and guarantee that in these extraordinary circumstances no child or adult who wants to play cricket for Redbourn CC will be denied the opportunity this coming summer.
- Minis – no payment is required from the ‘minis’ at this time as they do not have a winter net programme built into their annual subscription. However please register in the normal way and subs can be paid when summer training commences.

Please find the link to the memberships available: https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/redbourncricketclub/payments

We realise we are asking members to pay their annual subs at a time when many of you have other more critical financial priorities and that cricket is low down on your agenda.
We therefore wish to reiterate that if you are not able to make payment at this time and wish to just register yourself/ your child on the website that is fine. We just ask that junior parents advise their ‘Year Group Lead’, Jes Reilly or Chris Renwick directly, and seniors to notify John Pritchard, so that we can make a note of those registering who aren’t able to pay at this time.

I would just add that if for any reason the Herts Cricket Leagues (both junior and senior) are not played this summer, we fully intend to start summer training, internal practice matches and friendly matches against local clubs as soon as we are given the all clear to do so.

The thought of enjoying a cold drink, on a summer’s day, sitting on the Common while watching the cricket may seem a long way off - but all we can do is hope it’s not too far away!

Take care and stay well,

Redbourn Cricket Club Management Committee

PS. If you’d like to further support the Club by joining our licensed monthly 100 Club lottery please contact Darren Bassill and he can send you further information d.bassill@outlook.com If you already have a 100 Club number please consider taking out another one. Numbers are £5 per month each and 50% of all revenue is paid out in prizes. Last month we paid out £325 in prize money (from 130 members). Let’s see whether we can’t double it and help pay towards some of the overheads of the Club.
